Which strategies are most effective for teaching and learning with technology?

I think that the most effective strategies for using technology in the classroom are to let the students learn through doing and to present the information on technology in a variety of all different ways so that every student becomes comfortable. I personally found it to be most helpful and effective when you had us go to our computers and tool around with the technology instead of only watching you go through the motions on the projection screen. We used that method for things like Blogger, wiki's and the podcasting software. I guess I would just like to know, in your experience, what you find are the best and most effective ways for teaching and learning with technology.

nice reflection. but wait! you already figured out what I find is the best and most effective way for teaching and learning with technology: have the students go to the computers and figure it out for themselves. my only other technique is to have them learn from each other. some teachers I know have this rule: "ask three before me" which means a student has to ask 3 other students their question before they ask the teacher.

I still agree that learning is best done by doing. I've learned about more programs such as digital storytelling and Garageband since this posting and overall, I feel much more comfortable with the neew technology that I've learned about this semester. I would definitely make sure to have my students try out and play with new technology so that they would become comfortable with it too.
