How can you effectively integrate technology into your teaching and learning?

There is a plethora of ways that I could incorporate technology into my classroom. Podcasting, Audacity software, Garage Band software, Google Earth, WebQuest's, Inspiration/Kidspiration, Wiki's and blogs are just a few of the things that we''re learned about that I could easily and effectively use in the classroom. One good way to use technology in the classroom is to ask the students what they like to do or use for technology. Since they are digital natives, they are automatically going to know much more than I do. This class, just in the few weeks that we've been together has given me enough ideas to implement technology into all six of my lesson plans and in my performance task. If I could learn anything, I would like to know what technology current middle and high schoolers are using day to day so I can plan around that.

I love that you're already able to find enough ideas for your six lessons! as for knowing what technology current middle and high schoolers are using day to day, that varies not only from school to school but from teacher to teacher within a school! but you bring up a good point; even if we just look at what's on the laptops that 7th and 8th graders have, it would help address your concern. thanks for the input.

From this semester, I've really gotten to understand that technology can allow you do produce some amazing work that you just can't do with paper, glue and scissors. As a person who tends to resist new technology, I realized that I would have to get in the game or be left behind. I think that with the use of all the programs that I've learned about, I could make lessons fun and interesting for all of my "digital natives." I would still like to learn more about which programs are popular with middle and high schools today.
